WJH Proudly Announces New Compensation Package for Associate Attorneys

Wanger Jones Helsley PC is pleased to announce that the Firm recently increased its base salary and bonus compensation scale for all associate levels.

The updated compensation scale, which went into effect January 1, 2019, addresses the base salaries and minimum bonuses for WJH’s first through sixth-year associates.  Though base compensation increased at each associate level, the most notable change in compensation arose at the first-year associate level. Specifically, the new scale reflects that the base salary of all first-year associates increased from $85,000 to $100,000, irrespective of year-end bonus compensation.  Starting with its incoming 2019 class, WJH’s summer associate salaries will reflect the new $100,000 base.

The decision to increase base compensation stems from WJH’s effort to ensure its associate compensation packages attract associates with the highest levels of education and accolades to its current team.  WJH, which has—and will continue to—set the market when it comes to associate compensation packages among Central Valley firms, is cognizant of the fact that, in order to continue attracting the best and brightest, it must constantly analyze and acknowledge changing market conditions.  The newly-announced increase in base compensation across all associate levels coupled with the lower cost of living in the Central Valley is such that the Firm’s compensation package is competitive with some of the nation’s largest law firms.
